The Pro Lure SF62 pencil is a floating, slim, baitfish profile lure. A finesse lure, it was designed specifically for a more subtle surface presentation. Come the summer months, when the Bream and Bass are enjoying prowling the shallows and hanging close to the surface, the SF62 Pencil comes into its own. Fishing the SF 62 is incredibly exciting because you can usually see exactly what’s going on from the moment you start the retrieve. Often there is great anticipation as you see several fish milling around just beneath lure. Most of the time, you will get to see the strike, which is always very thrilling. The SF62 Pencil has proven to be very successful finesse style lure. Fish as light as possible, 4lb fluorocarbon is ideal but mono leader can be useful, as it floats. Spinning rigs are arguably the best here but baitcaster outfits will also work well for the skilled angler. Ultra-light fishing is ideal for the SF62. Long casts are important, a fast taper rod will be very handy

How and Where to use the SF62 Pencil
The SF62 Pencil is a bait for the warmer months when fish like Bream tend to congregate and feed in the shallows. All regular estuary and river haunts are useful hunting grounds, when there is good structure, likely to hold fish. Casting to banks is ideal, particularly when canal fishing. Otherwise, peg the SF62 at boat hulls, pontoons, jetties and, rock walls are perfect.
SF62 PENCIL Tips
- Fish light and fish braid. A slightly longer rod is handy for this application and ensure your rig has impeccable casting manners
- Often, the fish will strike the lure on the pause. If it happens to miss, make sure you don’t pull the lure away from the strike zone, you could miss the second attempt, or worse, spook the fish
