Pontoon 21 Kalikana 70SP -Shallow

Super-shallow and shallow cranks represent a popular type of lures for bass fishing in summer in the USA and Japan. This method is called cover cranking and consists in casting the crank into grassy places and retrieving it above the grass. The predator hiding in grass, as a rule, can’t stand it and attacks the lure.

“And why only cover cranking? – thought in Pontoon21, - it’s time to widen the range!” Thus cover shading appeared and two shallow shads together with it: Kalikana and Bet-A-Shad. At a straight retrieve Kalikana performs very energetic right/left movements according to its long axis, i.e. intensive rolling.

However, in addition to active balanced action which can be useful while fishing in bottom grass, new shads allow to use twitching. Also, taking into account that they come in both floating and suspending variants, cover shading, I think, will be more diverse than traditional cover cranking. For long and accurate casts, which also can be quite important, Kalikana has a balancing system which consists of perfectly adjusted balls sliding towards the tail on casting. The lips of both models are made of thin fiberglass plates – they are very firm and they don’t interfere with transversal fluctuations typical for these models.

The success of new shallow shads happened to be very confident, and their wonderful action and unimaginable catching efficiency is so outstanding that Pontoon 21 specialists considered it necessary to widen the possibilities of this highly interesting series.
